How Does PYO work?
Please arrive during operating hours referenced above & check in at the farmstand for picking containers. It is important to note that we sell PYO by container volume, not weight, and therefore kindly ask you use our containers for picking.
For blueberry, currant & gooseberry picking we offer choices of a 1-quart container, a small pail (2.75qt) or a large pail (5.5qt). Pricing for these 3 fruits are the same across each container size.
It is important to note that raspberries are priced separately and only picked into 1-pint containers. Please do not mix raspberries with other fruit varieties!
There is a set price for each container size. Please check out and pay in the farmstand when finished. You will take home cardboard pint and/or quart containers if used for picking. If you chose to pick into our pails you will take the berries home in the bagged liner.
You are welcome to bring your own tupperware, boxes, trays etc. to put your fruit into after checking out. We are happy to hold these in the farmstand with your name on them.
frequently asked questions:
Where are you located and what is your contact info? We are located at 545 West Hill Road, Troy, N.H., 03465. Our farmstand phone which is answered during operating hours is 603-242-6417. We can be reached at monadnockberries@gmail.com and monadnockberrie.events@gmail.com for wedding related questions.
Cash or card? We accept cash, all major credit cards & apple pay
What facilities are offered? We have wheelchair accessible bathrooms for customers located on site. We have a small farmstand with various refreshments, drinks, real fruit slushies and local gifts. There is shaded deck for relaxing at the end of the farmstand with amazing farm and mountain views.
Can I bring my dog? Unfortunately we have to ask you to leave your non-service dog at home or in the car. We believe that your dog is well trained, and we love dogs ourselves, but due to the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), pets are not allowed in orchards or any areas where food is grown. With an added mixture of kids and farm animals that may not necessarily get along with your dog, we kindly ask that you do not bring them inside the gates of the farm. You are more than welcome to leave your dog in the car (please check in with us if you need shaded parking) and you are welcome to walk them in parking lot & up and down the road past the parking lot.
Is smoking allowed?: To respect your fellow patrons and mitigate the risk of fire within the fields, we ask you refrain from smoking within the farm gates. There are smokers posts just outside the gates near parking.
Is Monadnock Berries suitable for kids? Monadnock Berries is an incredible place for kids to explore. Outside of fruit picking we have a large sandbox shaded by a few huge oak trees. We also offer multiple picnic areas to sit at picnic tables for snack breaks. We have 4 goats and 2 miniature donkeys for kids to visit with.
What if my mobility is limited or I need use of a wheelchair? For guests with mobility issues, we are typically able to offer easier-to-reach picking sections that are a short walk or can be accessed by wheelchair. This can sometimes depend on the time of season; most of our late season fruit (labor day onward) is located further away. If this is the case please feel free to call ahead and we can try to organize golf cart rides to and from picking areas.
What blueberry varieties will I be picking? We have 12 acres of cultivated blueberries hosting 12 varieties: Earliblue, Blue Crop, Blue Ray, Collins, Sierra, Duke Liberty, Berkeley, Coville, Nelson, Brigitta and Elliot. Generally, there are at least 2 or more of these varieties available for picking at any point in time. Ripening is staggered starting with early varieties in early July with the latest often running through September. We have a neat virtual map to use while on the farm so you know exactly what fruit and what variety you are picking.
Can I book a photo shoot at Monadnock Berries? Please reach out directly to monadnockberries.events@gmail.com for pricing and availability.
